Elsa, Speaker - thought, passion, solutions

Think or Sink

In 2006, after 23 years as a university and college prof, I was faced, in an Ethics class, with a sudden sea change in my students: a refusal to engage in thinking. All opinions were equal. There was no right or wrong. Everything was relative. They believed it was wrong to criticize beliefs.

My belief is different. I believe I was seeing something dangerous. How could my students find out if something was harmful or beneficial if they were not allowed to evaluate? In other words, think or sink. Even more strongly, as a society, we think or we're sunk.

There's more. If all opinions are equal, there was no possibility of a solid ethical foundation.

How can this problem be solved? First, there's easy proof that all opinions are not equal. People need to learn this proof.

Second, the problem isn't visible to most people. I've found a 3 step process. First, people need to be brought to awareness. They also need to come to care, and to engage. A.C.E.

How do we get to awareness, caring, and engagement on a large scale? It starts with a powerful speech, Think or Sink, to parents and teachers.
People are shown the problem, the danger it poses, and ways they can get engaged. They're also given a first powerful tool: proof positive that all opinions are not equal. The Law of Contradiction. That is, anything that validates its opposite is necessarily false. Since "all opinions are equal" validates as equal the opposite opinion that "all opinions are not equal," it is necessarily false.

People also learn what they can do, including:
- protecting their own children from this harmful non-thinking,
- involvement with the education system to stop this dangerous mindset,
- and joining in a growing community with like-minded people.

Think or Sink

Danny Hozack

Elsa was a keynote speaker at the Essentials of Freedom convention for 3 years, from its beginning in 2014, then also in 2015 and 2016. She is an excellent speaker. The first year, Elsa was the first speaker, and kicked off the convention. She challenged us all to stretch and think about the importance of thinking, as a foundation for all freedoms. In her own words, if you can't think, you're trapped by your own bad thinking. Think or sink!!
That first year, she was much more than a keynote speaker. She was a co-organizer, so enthusiastic about the project that 4 of her friends were motivated to come all the way to Edmonton from Quebec and Ontario! On the second day, when a speaker was kept away by a family emergency, she and another speaker had an impromptu debate - the friendliest debate there ever has been, I would imagine, on ethics. At the end of the weekend, people mentioned this was the best convention they'd ever attended.
It is a pleasure working with Elsa.

Danny Hozack has been involved with Alberta politics for over 40 years. One of his goals is to have leaders we trust, so we must learn to recognize, before we elect them, which folks we can trust. Ordinary folks must become involved, as Elsa has done. We must 'Think, and ACT, or Sink' Good luck, Elsa! Thanks.

Valerie Price

Dr. Elsa Schieder spoke at an ACT! For Canada event in Ottawa on the subject of Education, Not Indoctrination. What’s compelling about Elsa is her passion for her subject. And this passion translates into energy and authenticity which engages the audience. She gives a performance rather than a speech! She has the ability to capture and keep the audience’s attention. She moves around the stage rather than hiding behind the lectern and engages well with her audience. All in all, I would highly recommend Elsa as a speaker.

Valerie Price, National Director, ACT! For Canada. Valerie Price has a passion for freedom, for human rights, and for Canada.

Kim McMcConnell

We invited Dr. Elsa Schieder to speak at Language Fairness, after we saw her speak the year before on Education Not Indoctrination. Elsa spoke at our meeting with knowledge and enthusiasm and warmth. She was excellent at holding everyone’s attention, with her information and energy. Elsa was one of the best speakers we have had. I would be very pleased to have her come and speak again. Even though the situation is serious, she is a positive person. She is for increasing awareness, so that more people become involved in changing the situation.

Kim McConnell is president of Language Fairness.

Elsa Schieder, PhD

Elsa Schieder has a triple disciplinary PhD - Psychology, Sociology, Literary Theory. She has taught in 6 departments at the university and college level: Humanities, Education, English, Film Studies, Women's Studies and Sociology. She was long a tenured Humanities prof at John Abbott College.

However, her favorite childhood fantasy was coming to the rescue. In many ways, teaching is an adult equivalent of the childhood desire.

But in 2006, a much larger quest came alive in her. Edmund Hillary's quest was to climb Mount Everest. Elsa's quest is to bring back good thinking as a core of education. People who have experienced being encouraged to think may be most responsive to the message and eager to deliver it. These people are now, for the most part, in the parent and the grandparent generation.

To date, Elsa has written and posted extensively on the need for good thinking, developed an online presence and following, been a keynote speaker, written an ebook, and done numerous videos and interviews. Her most recent steps have been developing a membership site and a powerful speech aimed primarily at parents.

Sonya Jay Porter

Elsa is an incredible person, writing the truth for us all on so many subjects - political correctness, the climate, the UN, the EU (or rather, the European Dictatorship) and also on the subject which is one of the most important at the moment - the spread of Islamisation throughout the world.
And here she goes again, with yet something more! Whatever it is about, whatever she creates, I know it will be worth watching and reading - there is so little genuine Truth out there in the public media, but Elsa is a True Truth Sleuth!

Sonya Jay Porter, who for 25 years has been working with UKIP, the UK Independence Party, to get her country out of the European Union.

Gordon Miller

Elsa is a missionary for truth. I have had the pleasure of knowing Elsa for many years now and have admired her steadfast campaign to expose the truth on a range of topics. “The truth shall set you free.” Elsa is the ”Truth Sleuth.”

Gordon Miller, long time environmental conservationist, believer in climate science history, challenger of climate models, dissenter on Canada's 1982 Constitution, believer in the dignity of the individual (i.e. the essence of Judeo-Christian values) and advocate of minimal government at the federal level.

Nicole D

Elsa is a spiritual healer and a brilliant writer. She is also for me a pillar of strength and a voice of reason.
And her music videos are a reminder that there is a beauty in this world too!

Nicole Davidoff, passionate advocate of human rights and freedoms, passionately against any ideology that is totalitarian, cat lover.

Ramachandra Abhyankar

I came to know about Dr. Elsa Schieder ("Elsa") through her interviews with Islam experts Robert Spencer, Bill Warner, Citizen Warrior, and others. Islam is just one area; Elsa has sought the truth in many areas, and has a unique talent to clarify issues and motivate people.
Elsa has also taught me to not give up even when confronted by obstacles, such as the now ubiquitous censorship by the media.
Elsa is an inspiration and an example for all seekers of truth!

Ramachandra B. Abhyankar lives in Terre Haute, Indiana, USA. He is Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Indiana State University, in Terre Haute, Indiana USA.

Mary Andrew

When I came upon Elsa's work, I had been galvanised to protest by the horrific slaughter of children in the Manchester bombing, and was also trying to get the truth out on a lot of Facebook sites. But I felt isolated, downcast and daunted by the mountainous size of the problem. I have always been utterly anti-racist, but my friends thought I had become a bigot. I didn't know what to do.
Elsa's amazing, inspirational work has become a beacon of light to me, and her friendship has furnished me with the encouragement and support (and occasional rap over the knuckles!) which I desperately needed to become tougher, more confident, and much more active. Moreover, she has introduced me to new friends in the movement (against Sharia, and in support of British sovereignty - connected issues), from whom I am constantly learning, and with whom I can work, and protest, much more effectively. I no longer feel alone; united we stand!  Thank you, Elsa, so much for all you have done to embolden me, and nurture my development. I am truly grateful!

Mary Andrew recently co-founded a local branch of the new and fast-growing For Britain political party, to work for a voice in mainstream politics. She been invited to write for the For Britain website, and has given her first speech. She still regularly attending protests, now along with great new friends.

Jeff Himmelberger

I admire Elsa’s life-long commitment to activism through ever vigilant truth sleuthing, and I'm thrilled that her next series of interviews will tell untold stories of activists who've been ignored by mainstream media. I'm hopeful that Elsa’s provocative interviews will stretch personal comfort zones, reach wide audiences, and break through brick walls.
Elsa’s idea of interviewing people who do sustained truth-telling is perfectly aligned with who she is, and these interviews will be AWESOME!

Jeff Himmelberger is a left-leaning liberal from Massachusetts who fortuitously enjoys a deep and enduring friendship with Elsa. For the past fifteen years Elsa has been challenging Jeff’s assumptions and expanding his hard-wired thinking habits.

Elaine Black

I really want to thank you, Elsa, for your deep dedication and endless hard work in trying to right the wrongs. I don’t follow all of your activities, but am very aware of the bigger picture in what you do and know that your heart works to make the world a better place. You deserve every accolade that may never come your way - just know that so many of us think this.

Elaine Black has always believed in ‘principles’: Truth is based on principle and on facts. The great English painter Francis Bacon whose work is often considered controversial for it’s painful distorted imagery, once said "people tend to be offended by facts, or what used to be called truth." These are the tenets of my belief, and to that end, I have run a ’newswire’ service for over a decade to allow others to formulate their knowledge based on exposure to truth and facts rather than lies and distortions.

Education NOT Indoctrination - spoken word

membership site

A membership site has been created, the Truth Summit (https://truthsummit.info). It has 3 main components:

- interviews with experts in many areas where thinking is widely blocked;
- easy resources;
- and a workshop component to connect people in a community.

The ongoing workshops mean that all members, but especially parents and teachers, are much more likely to stay concerned about the anti-thinking indoctrination. At least as important, they are given a way to engage in solving the problem. They can get involved and connect in a community with like-minded people. They can act together. They can work on strategies. They can, for instance, contact individual schools, school boards, and government education departments. Throughout, they can be given and provide support, share successes and difficulties. If they are afraid, or sometimes feel despair, the connection may be especially beneficial.

Further, they can immediately share strategies for immunizing the children in their care against the anti-thinking forces. Very easy proof will be given immediately, showing that all opinions are not equal.

My role in the workshops will be as facilitator. It's an area of expertise.

I will end with a quote from Edmund Hillary,
the first person to summit Mount Everest.
He was asked, before his third attempt
to reach the summit, why he kept trying.
After all, the mountain wasn't getting any smaller.
He replied:
No, the mountain's not getting any smaller.
But I am getting bigger

My sense is that, like Edmund Hillary,
we will succeed because we are learning, growing -
and because we are determined to keep going
until we succeed.
