Heroes. Like Sojourner Truth, Thomas Jefferson, Harriet Tubman, Winston Churchill, Florence Nightingale.
You have your favorites. We each have our favorites.
Much to appreciate about the West. The scientific method. Freedom of thought. Freedom of speech. Human rights. The Magna Carta. Anti-Slavery Movement. Votes for Women. Gay Rights. Personal development. Technology.
Note: to celebrate the West does not mean to celebrate only the West.
Note also: to celebrate the West does not mean to discount weaknesses, failings.
It doesn't deny the bad.
It celebrates the good.
But is it okay to celebrate, instead of denigrating ourselves and the West?
It’s essential for our self-esteem and for our society.
At the moment the West is being put down from so many sides. Time to wash away the sludge and affirm what's amazing about it.
We’re put into lockdown. We see riots, looting, demands to defund the police. We're told we live in a culture of systemic racism and hate speech.
You can't escape the slimy tentacles of systemic racism. Or so we keep hearing.
I say that we can.
We hear about the importance of a positive mindset and self-esteem.. Not when it comes to the West. There we hear almost entirely what's wrong.
It's time for a CELEBRATION PARTY - a virtual event so we can connect worldwide.
It joyously affirms all that is good about the West. And about all the people who have worked and are working to improve it.
The CELEBRATION PARTY is for businesses and groups.

Elsa was a keynote speaker at the Essentials of Freedom convention for 3 years, from its beginning in 2014, then also in 2015 and 2016. She is an excellent speaker. The first year, Elsa was the first speaker, and kicked off the convention. She challenged us all to stretch and think about the importance of thinking, as a foundation for all freedoms. In her own words, if you can't think, you're trapped by your own bad thinking. Think or sink!!
That first year, she was much more than a keynote speaker. She was a co-organizer, so enthusiastic about the project that 4 of her friends were motivated to come all the way to Edmonton from Quebec and Ontario! On the second day, when a speaker was kept away by a family emergency, she and another speaker had an impromptu debate - the friendliest debate there ever has been, I would imagine, on ethics. At the end of the weekend, people mentioned this was the best convention they'd ever attended.

We invited Dr. Elsa Schieder to speak at Language Fairness, after we saw her speak the year before on Education Not Indoctrination. Elsa spoke at our meeting with knowledge and enthusiasm and warmth. Elsa Schieder has a triple disciplinary PhD - Psychology, Sociology, Literary Theory. She has taught in 6 departments at the university and college level: Humanities, Education, English, Film Studies, Women's Studies and Sociology. She was long a tenured Humanities prof at John Abbott College.
However, her favorite childhood fantasy was coming to the rescue. In many ways, teaching has been an adult equivalent of the childhood desire.
But in 2006, a much larger quest came alive in her. Edmund Hillary's quest was to climb Mount Everest.
Elsa's quest has been, first, to slowly recognize the destructive forces that she and her society are facing, and then to do what she can for human rights and freedoms.
One destructive force is the increasing taboo on thinking. So one focus has been to bring back good thinking as a core of education.
But there is ever so much more. The West is letting in a massive number of people who do not value it, who believe in ideologies - some of them religious, some not - that aim to destroy the West.
And instead of in any way defending itself, a huge percentage of people in the West have been taught to believe all diversity is good and must be valued. In most Western countries, governments, the media, and the so-called education system are on the side of the forces that are against the West.
Elsa has written, spoken, created spoken word pieces.
She's still writing, speaking, and creating spoken word pieces.
What else can she do? Hmmm, what about a celebration party. That sounds like fun!
Elsa is an incredible person, writing the truth for us all on so many subjects - political correctness, the climate, the UN, the EU (or rather, the European Dictatorship) and also on the subject which is one of the most important at the moment - the spread of Islamisation throughout the world.
And here she goes again, with yet something more! Whatever it is about, whatever she creates, I know it will be worth watching and reading - there is so little genuine Truth out there in the public media, but Elsa is a True Truth Sleuth!

When I came upon Elsa's work, I had been galvanised to protest by the horrific slaughter of children in the Manchester bombing, and was also trying to get the truth out on a lot of Facebook sites. But I felt isolated, downcast and daunted by the mountainous size of the problem. I have always been utterly anti-racist, but my friends thought I had become a bigot. I didn't know what to do.
Elsa's amazing, inspirational work has become a beacon of light to me, and her friendship has furnished me with the encouragement and support (and occasional rap over the knuckles!) which I desperately needed to become tougher, more confident, and much more active. Moreover, she has introduced me to new friends in the movement (against Sharia, and in support of British sovereignty - connected issues), from whom I am constantly learning, and with whom I can work, and protest, much more effectively.
